Does the Sig P365 need an adapter plate?

Which footprint does the P365 use?

The RMSc footprint. This is the small mounting pattern built for sub-compact carry optics, and it is the one constant across the entire P365 lineup. All 10 optic-ready configurations in our set accept it. That gives you 32 RMSc optics that bolt straight to the slide.

Most of the P365 slides accept a second footprint on top of that: the Holosun K pattern. Nine of the ten configurations take it, and it adds 8 more optics.

How many red dots actually fit?

Forty, for the dual-footprint P365 variants, and every one is a direct fit. That last part matters. Our P365 data has zero adapter-plate fits. The optic-ready slide is milled for the red dot, so you skip the plate stack that Glock MOS and Sig’s own plate-system pistols force on you. You buy the optic, torque it down, zero it, done.

Do the variants really differ?

Barely, and that is the useful part. The P365-380, P365X, P365XL, X-Macro, X-Macro TacOps, Fuse, AXG Legion and Spectre Comp all land in the same place in our data: RMSc plus Holosun K. Different grip, different barrel, different comp. Same optic cut.

The one thing to watch is that one older listing captures only the RMSc footprint, which is the safe floor rather than a real limit. So do not assume from a spec sheet. Pull up your exact model on its page, like the P365X, and read the listed footprints before you spend money. That is a 10-second check against buying an optic that indexes to the wrong pattern.

Which brands make P365 optics?

Eleven of them, across the full set of direct fits. The lineup is not thin, and no single brand owns it.

That spread means you are choosing on price, glass and battery life, not fighting to find anything that fits at all. Budget shoppers have real options and so do people who want an enclosed emitter.

How should you pick one?

Start with the footprint, since that is the only hard gate. If you want the widest menu, an RMSc optic works on any P365 in our data. The Shield RMSc and the Sig RomeoZero are the classic small choices. If you want an enclosed-emitter dot that shrugs off lint and rain, look at the Holosun 507K or the EPS-CARRY, and confirm your slide lists the Holosun K footprint first. Nine of the ten configurations do.

After that it is preferences. Window size, dot size, solar backup, price. None of those change whether the optic fits, only whether you like it.
